Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, a 188-bed acute care facility located in the heart of downtown Nashua, has a medical staff of over 500 primary and specialty care providers from Foundation Medical Partners, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua, and local independent practices.

Our Inpatient Units

30-bed adult med/surg department serving a patient population that consists of orthopedics, neurosurgical, and general medicine and general surgical.

22-bed adult med/surg department serving a patient population of general medicine, vascular, GI, bariatric, urology, women’s health, oncology and chemotherapy administration, and palliative care.

31-bed adult med/surg telemetry unit serving a patient population of cardiac catherization recovery, stroke, pulmonary embolism, diabetic and endocrine disorders, neurological and renal disorders.

22-bed adult med/surg telemetry unit serving a patient population of stroke, sepsis, diabetes, wound care, renal failure, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, and COPD.

18–bed adult behavioral health unit serving a patient population that is voluntarily admitted for mental illness with or without co-occurring medical diagnoses. Average length of stay is one week.

Specifically designed to address the distinct requirements of patients who need advanced monitoring and support beyond the medical-surgical level, yet do not require the intensive care provided in the Intensive Care Unit. This unit comprises six (6) private rooms, each equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring technology and amenities, thereby ensuring both patient comfort and safety throughout the crucial recovery period.

8-bed pediatric unit serving a patient population of newborns and children of all ages with viral and respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and post-operative care. The pediatrics department collaborates with Massachusetts General Hospital for Children pediatric specialists to care for our patients. Pediatrics does accept appropriate adult patients when the need arises.

The Special Care Nursery is a 9-bassinet Level II nursery for babies 32+ weeks, and 1,500 grams. Newborns may be treated for respiratory distress or temperature instability, or need assistance learning to feed and grow. We provide Retinopathy of Prematurity screening in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital. We collaborate and consult with the Mass General NICU.

The Birth Place is a 18-room labor, delivery, and post-partum department that cares for families and babies throughout their stay at the Medical Center. The Birth Place is staffed 24/7 by Obstetricians and Certified Nurse Midwives.
