Magnet® Hospital
The Magnet Recognition Program® was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. The Medical Center has been a Magnet® hospital since 2006, with their last re-designation being in June 2021. Southern is now in the top 1% of hospitals in the country to achieve four designations! Magnet re-designation is no small feat. Magnet organizations must show that their nursing outcomes are better than national benchmarks in many areas, and they must also exceed national benchmarks for patient and family satisfaction, as well as nurse satisfaction.
DNV Healthcare Accreditation
DNV Healthcare delivers quality accreditation services focused on consistency, collaboration, and continuous improvement which provides healthcare organizations with a clear framework for required compliance of patient safety and quality of care. The DNV accreditation program directly addresses regulatory requirements for hospitals as approved by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) with an approach that integrates proven quality and risk management principles. Additionally, all DNV accredited hospitals must comply with ISO Quality Management principles, raising the bar on hospital accreditation.
