MRI creates exceptionally detailed 3D images of the breast structure; tissue damage or disease, such as infection; inflammation; or a lump. MRI is more precise than mammography or ultrasound for looking at some breast lumps. It combines a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses, and a computer to generate highly detailed images of soft tissue of the breast that cannot be seen on a mammogram or ultrasound.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) creates exceptional detailed three-dimensional images of organs and tissues throughout the body.
