Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program to improve your health after a heart attack or heart surgery.

About Our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program features individually tailored exercise, education and counseling. We are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and our cardiac rehab team includes: doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and dietitians.

Cardiac Rehab Has Three Phases:

  • Phase I – Inpatient Recovery
Begins while you are recuperating in the hospital. It includes daily exercises and education to prepare you to return home.
  • Phase II – Outpatient Recovery
A 6 to 12-week program of physician-supervised outpatient exercise and education to strengthen your heart, and improve your independence and healthy lifestyle.
  • Phase III – Maintenance
A 6-week program in our Cardiac Rehab gym that promotes conditioning and healthy lifestyles through exercise, and is supervised by an exercise physiologist or registered nurse.

Through exercise and behavioral changes, cardiac rehab can help you reduce your risk factors and live longer. We measure our clinical outcomes – your condition, overall health, blood pressure, oxygen level, and the diet and exercise changes you are making. We use this information to continually improve our quality of care.

Our Program is Nationally Recognized

The American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) has nationally recognized and certified our Cardiac Rehabilitation program. This certification, one of only 1,300 nationwide, confirms that we meet the stringent national criteria of the AACVPR in the areas of education, safety, equipment and facilities, staff clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and outcome measures.
