What is a Virtual Immediate Care Visit?

Virtual Immediate Care is a convenient option to receive medical care without having to physically visit one of our Immediate Care locations. This type of care typically includes video conferencing, where the patient can interact with our experienced and trusted providers in real time. Additionally, virtual visits may include the ability to order prescription options and receive health advice. Immediate Care treats non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries that do not require attention from a hospital emergency room.

How Does It Work?

To ensure your virtual visit is successful, please confirm that you are using a smart phone, tablet or computer with the following:

  • A working camera
  • Most up-to-date internet browser

We also recommend that you connect 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time to ensure there are no technical issues and everything is working properly.

Please note: These virtual visits are NOT for medical emergencies. If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.

What Conditions are Treated?

Providers can diagnose, offer treatment, and prescribe necessary medication for many health conditions including:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Rash
  • Cold Sores/shingles
  • Poison ivy

Frequently Asked Questions

Your Virtual Provider will determine if testing is needed. If so, you will be directed to one of our four Immediate Care locations. The provider will notify the Immediate Care staff about your arrival and communicate any testing needs.

Virtual appointments are the same cost as an in-person visit. Your insurance company will be billed for the visit. You can also contact your insurance company directly to ask if telemedicine visits are covered. We accept most health insurance plans.

You will receive your After Visit Summary via MyChart (if you have access) or if testing is done you will receive it at the Immediate Care practice. If you don’t have a MyChart account, one will be mailed to you.
